The Lonesome Jubilee - John Mellencamp

Released in 1987 this is Mellencamp's 9th of 21 studio albums! It has some big hits on it - Paper In Fire, Check It Out, Cherry Bomb and Rooty Toot Toot.

Mellencamp originally wrote the song as a nursery rhyme for his daughter, Teddi Jo, who had asked her father to use her name in one of his songs. After it was written, Mellencamp and his band turned Rooty Toot Toot into a rock song.

I saw Mellencamp perform at The Adelaide Entertainment Centre 19 Novemeber 2008. I never realised how tiny this man is - his hair is bigger than him! It was a great concert though you forget just how many hits he has had until you sit there and listen to him pump them out.
